Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere. - Carl Sagan
[October 2018] Hi guys! This is in response to a review I got recently on my story "Riders of Duracia: A Kingdom Rises". I was asked if I had abandoned my stories, and by extension my readers. This is not true. I started writing that particular story during a hard time for me. I was often depressed and disillusioned about college, as it was my second semester and I was dorming in a very uncomfortable situation for me. I didn't have the drive to get out of my room, go to class, do my work, and sometimes even eat. The only thing keeping me going was this story. And then my laptop got a virus and was slowly shutting down on me. I just barely saved my work, both school and fanfiction related. And though my mother got me a kindle fire a week after, and a new laptop not long after even that, the time I didn't have my laptop to express myself through my story really threw off my motivation to write. That's why if you pay attention to the original upload dates, you see a steady stream of updates that all of a sudden drops and slowly trickles out until 2016, where I hit a creative block and haven't been able to write for that story since. I had to see a psychiatrist for several years after my second semester, to improve my work ethic, my coping mechanisms, and to help me with my general anxiety disorder (which she diagnosed me with). She helped me overcome a lot of anxiety that was holding me back for a long time, like my fear of driving, of getting a job, and of general social interactions. She even read "Riders of Duracia", I'm guessing to see where my head was during that time, though she seemed to really like it. In fact, I was able to get to Chapter 14 thanks to her encouragement. I stopped seeing her (because I didn't have to anymore) around March 2017. I tried to focus on my classes after that, and then on getting a job. And I got one, starting November 2017, and I'm still at it. But this doesn't mean I don't care for the story anymore, I just decided to focus on school and work first, with maybe taking some free time to sit and write if I feel the inspiration. The story is not abandoned. It's on a long hiatus until I can get my shit together.
I'm Jolly Writer 2.o. You can call me Jolly or Jay (you can guess my real name starts with a 'J', can't you?). I've been reading fanfiction for years now and decided to give it a try. My first fic was a How to Train Your Dragon story with some Assassin's Creed influence called "Riders of Duracia". The 'Duracia' part will be explained in the story. For those who don't mind spoilers, you can download the rough summary from the 'Duracia' page on this website. The cover for the story will also be there.
I have two on-going projects. I have my first story, "Riders of Duracia: A Kingdom Rises", which I can assure you will be long and have at least two sequels. Which starts out as a HTTYD story, goes off the rails into its own, then becomes a Disney's Brave crossover in the first official sequel, then a Harry Potter story with some cameos and references from HTTYD in the official third and last story.
The second is "Percy: Madness Remains" which is a three-way crossover of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Harry Potter, and Alice: Madness Returns. Basically I mess around with dates, years, and relationships to make it so Percy Jackson [fem!Percy] is the great-granddaughter of Voldemort, and Voldy is the great-grandson of Alice Liddell. Alice has godly blood in her, which is passed down; but her powers aren't awakened until Percy comes along. So basically Percy joins up with Harry Potter to defeat Voldemort, with some help from Cheshire Cat and what remains of Alice in Percy's new Wonderland.

If you visit my profile on Fiction Press, same name, I have several poems and short stories. There's even one short story by my little sister who was about 11 or 12 at the time. My longest piece is a short story of about 5,700 words titled "Lognhal", which I wrote for a creative writing class and was inspired by the video game "Firewatch". And I just recently added a poem titled "In All Things" which started as a quick write in my new advanced creative writing class and I decided to finish for the heck of it.
Updates:
~(8-31-2019) So I got the third HTTYD movie from the library I work at. Gonna try to watch it this weekend. Hopefully it inspires me to get a move on. I've been stuck in a world of wish fulfillment (don't blame my rewrite page, because I've always daydreamed, my rewrite just let's me track my daydream) and I don't like to write that kind of stuff. Plus I'm in a funk over what to read and watch after the disaster that was GoT. I was already a bit of a quitter when it came to watching a show all the way through, but GoT kinda made me think that's probably a good thing. But what it's done is that I've been really into learning how to tell a compelling story. Like an actual compelling story, not shock and awe. And so I've been watching videos on world-building and character arcs, and personally talking with friends and family about how a story could have come out for the best, or at least wouldn't have been as bad. I hope that I don't get too hung up on that and can get back to my stories, but I also hope I come out of this a better writer. I'm already thinking of printing out both of my stories and proofreading it the traditional way, with red pen and highlighter, notes in the margins and maybe even post-its and such. I just know that I want to look at my work critically and come back with stronger new chapters as updates.
~(3-11-2019) Aside from watching Youtube videos, reading fanfiction, and adding to my "The God" rewrite, I'm not very active nowadays online. I keep wishing I could find the inspiration to write, I really do, and I feel like I might need to have a HTTYD marathon along with rereading my whole story when it comes to RoD. For P:MR, one of the things that kept me focused on this story was my Alice fan-blog, but since getting my job, I barely have the energy to stay awake some days, let alone keep a constant queue of posts and work on my story. So just be patient, I'm working things out, trying to get my body adjusted to the changes in my environment and my new routine. And when I do, I'll hopefully get back into writing and be able to continue these stories. Probably gonna switch to Google Docs soon because I'm always looking to pass the time on slow days at work, especially since the flashdrive idea hasn't worked out. These computers can barely handle it, which is sad (yes, I'm typing this at work rn).
~(7-23-2018) It's been here for a while, but I started a new "Rewrite" page, in which I describe (in great detail) how I would have written some of the stories that I found myself either loving but wishing there could have been something more, or loving the concept of a story but the author took it in a path I couldn't follow (i.e. Assassin's Creed: Transcendence & Green-Eyed Ghoul by DelayedInspiration). The first, and so far only, entry into this page is "The God" a rewrite of two stories by the same author, in which one had a plot, started a second arc, and then just stopped, while the other is longer running but doesn't seem to have a solid plot, just great ideas with some falling flat. So I basically decided to make it into an epic that follows the slow burn creation of a superior celestial being that takes a turn when its world comes to a sudden end after all other gods fade, and its essence creates a new world, one in which it is reborn as a future hero to guard the existence of its creation. It's a bit much, but then again, it's wish-fulfillment fanfiction that I probably won't ever actually write.

Male Characters I Love to Read About/My Boys:
Percy Jackson
Percy Jackson from the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" and "Heroes of Olympus" series, along with him showing up in many of Rick Riordan's other works. Actually discovered this series through the movie back when I was a sophomore in high school (tenth year of school) in 2010. I already had a love for the ocean back then and so this series appealed to me. So I bought the first book, finished it within a day or two, and begged my mom to buy me the rest of the series. This was a gamble because I started reading the Twilight series at the start of my freshman year and she was going crazy trying to separate me from those books, so she was reluctant to buy me a new series. Something must have told her that this would be different and so she agreed. I finished the series within the week and fell in love with the books, and related to Percy in a lot of ways. He soon became my go-to guy for reading fanfiction, especially after the PJO category was getting filled with Son of Chaos stories and such, so I moved on to reading a lot of PJO crossovers, usually staring Percy. In fact, when I moved on to reading "Heroes of Olympus", I struggled with the first book (something my younger cousin, who I encouraged to read the series, also has a problem with) as it didn't have Percy in it other than by name. When "Son of Neptune" came out, I was stoked, finished it in two days by even reading while at school, and gushed over it with my friend who kept trying to shut me up so I wouldn't spoil anything for her. When "Mark of Athena" came, I read it much slower, mainly because I wasn't in the right mindset at the time and couldn't get into it, which is also why I still haven't finished "House of Hades" despite having both the book and audiobook on audible. But I still love Percy, still keep track of what he's done in books I haven't finished or read yet, and he will forever be my number one boy other than my baby Oreo (my shih tzu). And to explain any PJO stories I have on my own account; because I read so many PJO stories with Percy being a boy, as he should be, I write to try out new things, so very often I'd write him as a girl, so that's why.
Peter Parker
Peter Parker from Marvel Comics, more specifically as their hero Spider-Man. I follow what I can of his adventures in the comics, though I will say that until recently, I stuck to more classic books than comics. This does not mean I don't try to keep myself informed of what happens in the comics, it's just that I became a fan through the movies first. I love this boy to the point of loving spiders. In fact, before becoming a Spidey fan, I hated or disliked most bugs and such. I only tolerated butterflies and ladybugs, maybe some bumblebees, because I was a girl raised to like them, especially on pretty little shirts, skirts, and dresses. And for a girl who has a phobia of roaches and moths, it's a miracle I even came close enough to liking any other tiny creatures who could resemble them. But I do, and I love spiders and tarantulas, and love watching videos on different types of interesting bugs (I follow AntsCanada on YT, though it's hard to watch some of their videos on the ants eating roaches, more because I don't like seeing roaches). When it comes to seeing creepy crawlies in my house, everything is killed the moment I have the tool to do it (moths get me into a panic if there's no one else around, but I can pull myself together to get it done if need be) aside from spiders and flies. Flies because those suckers are hard to get a hold of it, and even trying to kill them off with an electric racket we have to take several tries because they don't die right away like the rest. So I tend to try and ignore them the best I can if I know I can't catch them. I leave spiders alone until they become a big problem, and it's usually my parents who have a problem with them. I love how me expressing my love of Spidey became me sharing my interest in spiders and bugs. Well yeah, it's his fault...Anyway, I'm a bit of a fanatic, but only when it comes to merch. I've branched out a bit and learned more about the Marvel Multiverse, making learning what's coming for Phase 4 of the MCU very exciting, but I will always put Spidey above all, with next being Deadpool.
Lucifer Morningstar
Though I started reading the comics (didn't start with the Sandman comics, in which he's introduced, but in his own), I am referring to the TV show. Lucifer Morningstar is from the Fox (now Netflix) TV series "Lucifer", in which he is the actual Devil, having come up to LA for a 'vacation', opening a nightclub and joining the LAPD as a civilian consultant. I love him! He's just too much, and that's what makes him amazing, plus he's a take on the Devil where he's not evil, just expressive and open, and he's not accepted by God and the Host because of this. It makes him a complex character who feels very one dimensional at first, seeing as he makes himself out to be just a rich horndog, only for viewers to realize he's hurt, both inside and outside, but he's strong because he won't let what's been done to him get him down. In fact, as horny of a druggie and alcoholic he is, he's in many ways more honorable and even noble than some (read 'most') of his angelic brothers and sisters. And don't get me started on his parents, God and his wife, the Goddess of Creation.
Daniel Fenton/Danny Phantom
Daniel "Danny" Fenton, a.k.a. Danny Phantom, is from the 2004-2007 Nickelodeon cartoon "Danny Phantom", and as the opening rap goes "-He had to stop all the ghosts that were comin' through, He's here to fight, for me and you! He's gonna catch 'em all, 'cause he's Danny Phantom-" and no, he's not a Pokemon trainer with a thing for Ghost Pokemon. I used to love this show when I was younger, watched it every time it was on. But then as the years went by, I sort of forgot about it. Not in that I forgot who Danny Phantom was, because if someone mentioned him, I knew exactly what they were talking about, it's just that I wasn't invested in the show, I didn't read fanfiction of the show once I got into fanfiction. But then recently, I was reminded of the show again and out of renewed interest I decided to see where I could go about watching it. Prime Video has it but you have to pay, so I instead borrowed it from my library and rewatched the whole series, which I was surprised to find out only had three seasons. Later found out there are only three seasons (and a rushed hour long final episode that's balls to the wall insane) because the creator of the show, Butch Hartman, was making some decisions for the show that Nickelodeon wasn't happy with and so the show was canceled with just enough time and budget to get a few episodes out. Didn't help that as popular and recognizable as Danny is now, that wasn't so back when it was airing. But rewatching the show again, I fell in platonic love with Danny as the show progressed. I felt like such a maternal adult as I watched because I kept gushing about how such a good boy he was, and my little sister was getting more and more annoyed by it. But really, aside from a few specific situations where I excused it as "he is only 14", he really is a good kid. It honestly pained me when he would get in trouble with his parents or at school when he was just trying to do the right thing and all the adults just passed it off as him being a rebel teenager. Just ugh! Don't even get me started on Vlad and Valerie, just please.
CoNnor RK800
Connor is an android from the video game "Detroit: Become Human", a butterfly effect game set in the future, that's both loved and hated by its fans. Hated as in some fans of the games, especially the characters, aren't the biggest fans of the guy behind it, David Cage. Connor himself is a detective-directive android, meant to work with police departments in crime investigation. And throughout the game, he can either stay a machine-like being or become his true self, the precious robo boi! I love Connor, every version of him, including the more machine-like badass version. I've read a lot of stories that take liberties with his personalities, since there's sadly not enough to get a full picture of who he can be. But usually he's a cinnamon roll who loves animals, gardens, and the ocean, and doing his job. He is precious, so so precious! I love him and need him with me and safe from harm.
Okumura Rin
Rin is from the manga/anime series titled “Blue Exorcist” or “Ao no Exorcist” from Japan. He is the main character and he is the son of Satan alongside his twin brother Yukio, though Rin alone inherits the powers of Satan at first. He is a dork but so adorable about it. If you look up the word “adorkable” in a thesaurus, you’ll find it’s synonymous with Okumura Rin. He is a mess and but he’s so kind, that I find myself wanting to tear out the throats of anyone who wants to hurt him, physically or emotionally. And the poor boi has the biggest crush on a sweet girl that friendzones him so hard that I felt it. My sister felt it. The world felt it. I just wanna pull him out of the screen and smother him in the motherly love he never got. My baby!
