| "Don't lose yourself trying to be someone else, but find yourself in everything you do." Soooo....hi! This here is Jolly Writer 2.0. My real name isn't really Jolly Writer but I don't mind being called that. I've been reading stories on fanfiction for like four years now. But I never really favorited any until recently. I also just recently decided to start my own story, thanks to some encouragement from my friend. I'll refer to her as Dee, and you can call me: Jolly Writer, Jolly, Jay, JW, or 2.0. |
So I’m a college student studying to become a teacher. That should explain my extra care on proofreading my story. I’ll have a process of how I’ll write up my chapters too. I’ll try to write two or three chapters a week and I’ll always have one ready for the next update. As I’ll write or type up those chapters, I’ll simultaneously proofread the coming update chapter. But since I just started out, I only have the two first chapters up, the next typed up but not proofread, and the fourth is being written. This week I’ll be writing up chapter four and five, and I’ll proofread chapter three on Friday since I have no classes then. But I’m busy on Mondays and Tuesdays, have a whole afternoon free on Wednesdays, and then more classes on Thursdays, just not as much as on Mon.’s and Tues.’s. So I’ll being writing at night, Wednesdays, and in my General Psychology class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That actually limits me a lot since every other time I’ll almost certainly be busy with homework. I mean, I have three papers due this week, an online test to take (those get me nervous), and my one art class will be taking up a lot of my imagination this week too.
Now I’m also a music maniac, in the sweetest way possible. I have to be listening to music at almost every moment of the day. I get easily bored in classes if I can’t listen to music and the professor ‘s lectures are not interesting in any way. I once even challenged one of my friends to see who listens to music more; I won. I listen while I type/write, I listen while I read, I listen while I walk to class, I listen while I walk from class, I listen in classes where it’s allowed, I listen as I eat, I listen during movies I’m not into, I listen while I clean around the house, I listen to go to sleep, I sometimes listen to music while I’m sleeping (I’ve woken up to find my headphones still on), and music always seems to be playing in my dreams. I’m listening to music now! I believe life is nothing without music. Music is a way to express yourself, to cool off the stress, to motivate you. If a person doesn’t have at least a top 5 list of songs they adore, they are no fun. Disagree all you like, but I’ll always think that.
Lastly, being a member of Fanfiction, I love books and movies. I have a small collection of books and I cherish them like nothing else (aside from my iPod). I, along with my godmother it seems, am a firm believer that the book is usually better than the movie. With a book, the author can get so much detail down and is never limited by time, like a movie can’t be too long. Plus the words in a book can always express the characters the way they should be; actors, not so much. But don’t get me wrong, movies are awesome too. I love actually seeing this for myself, mainly because I’m a very visual person. Then there’s the inner challenge I place on myself everytime I read a book that has a movie representation to it. I always try my hardest to imagine what the movie would be like as I read, and then when I see the movie, I see how close my imagination is to the official feature presentation. I also collect all my movie tickets because each one tells a story. I usually go to the same theater and with different people. That place is like my fifth home (there’s my real home, my godmother’s house, my aunt’s house, and then my dorm) and I adore it. The people are nice, the place can be pretty private since it’s a small theater, and I have a lot of happy memories there. You can think I’m crazy, but I don’t care.
So that was a great first insight into the mind of Jolly Writer, don’t you think? Oh, and expect a video with every post, and maybe some song suggestions at the bottom!
