I have been a fan of Danny Phantom since I was back in elementary school and watching it during it's original run. I didn't watch every single episode, but I tuned into the show whenever it was on. Loved it!
During college, and in the first years of my job at a library, I found that I could borrow the whole series and rewatch them on my own DVD player. So I did. I must've binged the whole thing within a week, with school and work taking up the rest of my time. I found some things still interesting, others a little annoying, some concerning, and saw Danny himself as the stereotypical teenage boy, excluding the whole half ghost part.
As with most things I discover (or rediscover in this case) in my teenage years into adulthood, I fixated hard, especially in terms of fanfiction. I was reading whatever caught my eye. I read DannyxSam, DannyxValerie, DannyxDash, DannyxEmber. I was reading stories about his secret being revealed, about him becoming the Ghost King, about him becoming a worldwide hero. Danny as a kid, Danny as a teen, Danny as an adult. One-shots, long novels, crack, angst, smut. I read crossovers with IPs I was familiar with, and some I wasn't. I wanted to read Danny Phantom.
And then material started drying out. A lot of what I had read was already several years old. Some of the fics I started I gave up on, some of them the author never went back to finish, some I reread until I just wasn't interested anymore.
Years later, I found DP again. I think it was around summer or so last year (2022). I was coming off Detriot: Become Human and Percy Jackson fixations (Percy is my all time fav, so I'm always looking over to those to find something), and found that the Danny Phantom phandom has come back. They never really left, but they came in droves recently. I got sucked back in again, and I was loving all the new content. I read almost all the time, so I was reading DP content at all times of the day.
Waking up? Reading.
While eating? Reading.
In the bathroom? Reading.
At work? Reading.
Going to bed? Reading.
I don't write as much nowadays, having properly written my last piece of work about five years ago or so. I slowed down in my writing due to anxiety issues paired with school and work. After I graduated last year, I believed I could go back to writing again. Even pulled up my drafts to work on them as I now had the time to do so. However, due to issues at work (I might start another blog just ranting about work), I haven't been in the right headspace for writing. And it sucks. So I turn to DP fics.
I feel like most days I live and breathe DP fics. I even currently have been working on something that is the closest to writing I get these days. You can check it out over here. It's a spreadsheet that has been taking over my life, even on the days I don't work on it. The subject of the spreadsheet is also related to another post I'll be making soon. But the underlying thing is that I love Danny Phantom. Always have and always will. I even have another spreadsheet (which I won't be sharing) where I will takes notes on the series as I rewatch it. Not through borrowing the whole series again. No no. I BOUGHT that shit. I own my own copy of the entire Danny Phantom series, all three seasons. Yes, I paid full price for a brand new copy. Don't @ me.
So that's kinda the background info for anything else that might come up in this blog thing.
Name's Jolly, stay happy, and don't get snappy.
Bye!
