EVERYONE IS HERE!
Ok I'm gonna nerd out while doing this. As is appropriate, I will use Super Smash Bros characters for my library characters. Give you guys someone to imagine while reading this. XD
Introducing Library Staff:
ME! Jolly!
I love Yoshi so I picked him for myself 😊.
I have the position of Library Assistant, so essentially I do whatever is asked of me most of the time. I'm the person who checks your books out and in for you, circulating the books from library to library and from library to patron.
Me personally, I work on invoices, item tags, item (mainly book) repairs, and library decor. I'm also the library's equivalent of a teacher's pet, like my manager's personal assistant. That part I don't mind. I love her, she's great.

I decided on Rosalina for my manager, because why not. I tried finding meaning with other characters and just decided this was best.
My manager will be known as Gem. A name based off different names she's known by.
Gem is the Head of our Customer Service Department. Meaning she gets daily headaches, the poor thing. She rose to the occasion after years of bad bosses, and is holding on by a thread, though not because she's bad at the job. You'll see soon.
Gem is a grandmother with waning patience. But she's trying her best to rally our sorry excuse for a team into something efficient.

Luce is my coworker, the one I'm closest to after Gem.
Luce works full time at our library and also full time at a hotel. She's a living machine and she runs on fast food. Bless her.
I picked Kirby for her because she loves food. We share in that love together, honestly.
She works mostly nights, is trilingual, and has no patience for the drama and karens of the library in comparison to the big time issues of hotel life.
She has also learned how to survive the incompetence of some of our colleagues quietly.

Sam is another one of my coworkers, essentially Gem's lieutenant.
She can take charge almost as well as Gem, but has slightly better patience. However, she will sooner burst into laughter at someone's ridiculousness than actually deal with them. I adore her.
She works in records, the only one in the library now. She's as much of a machine as Luce, but she runs on compliments of her beauty and glasses. She must own a collection of them because she has a different one for every outfit.
Sam knows she's too valuable to fire, so she tends to always do her work diligently but without much of a care for patrons unless she knows them personally. So she wears airpods at almost all times, frequently on phone calls with family even while helping others.

Joey is another coworker. I'm naming her after J.K. Rowling. I won't explain why.
I've chosen Little Mac, not for the character himself but for the fact he's a boxer. Because Joey likes to pick a fight with everyone.
She's a little old lady that is the type of person you tend to have to make "back in her time" excuses for, whether you agree with her or not. Everyone is doing something wrong, and everyone's business is her own.
I swear she finds something to complain about no matter how little the issue.
However, she sees me as the daughter she never had, so I'm often tasked in calming her suspicions of people down.

Ness is the last library assistant in our branch. I'm giving her the same name as the character because I feel it works. Mainly because I've seen many people hate the character, or at least fighting against him. And if that doesn't perfectly fit this coworker, I don't know who will.
She's the newest member of our whole department, and she's been a problem since her first few hours working with us. This has not changed over the years.
She takes all advice, corrections, or suggestions as attacks on her capabilities. She is offended easily and asks defensively, often lying. I try my best to avoid her if I can, and tend to only discuss work with her because she also loves getting into everyone's business. She's a hair's breadth away from being fired all the time, I swear.

We have 3 pages that I'm gonna mention. Our fourth and last one is amazing, works in Children's, and is never in any drama. She comes in to work, and then leaves to go home, often with books for her neighbor. If I ever mention her, she's Pearl.
The three involved in my stories will be:
-Yellow, a former volunteer that tends to just want to get work done and works with Sam.
-Red, who's in a love/hate work relationship with Ness. Sometimes they clash, sometimes they get along. She is sometimes involved in small drama.
-Blue, who is probably the oldest staff member in the whole town, across all branches. We accommodate her, but her age causes small issues and makes her a headache to work with, unfortunately.

Head of Information. Imma call him Bob. I chose Snake because this guy is kinda sneaky. He seems really nice, says sorry much too often, but doesn't have much of a filter for inner thoughts.
He tends to view himself almost as the assistant director when we don't have that as a position, He can be fairly helpful, if forgetful, but he can also come across as condescending.
I tried to bond over our shared love of Ancient Greece, but the moment you don't know something he does, he'll either overexplain until you move the convo along, or avoid speaking to you about that topic.
So essentially I have mixed feelings about this guy.

The last staff member that will get her own picture at the moment. She's gonna be named Lin here.
A librarian in our Children's Department, Lin tends to interact with my Customer Service Department the most. She's also the one that's the most involved in the few bits of drama I'm gonna share.
She's in charge of orders, STEAM events, and children's equipment.
Others in her department are Zelda (the Head), Mipha (the soft librarian), and Urbosa (the mom librarian among mom librarians). [I didn't originally plan to use LoZ characters to represent the Children's Department, but they surprisingly fit well.

The Public 🤢:
I don't want to dislike or be frustrated by people that come in, but they test your patience.
The one and only patron that will receive a picture rn, and that's because she's become the annoyance of the library.
I will name her Duck. That's it. Nothing clever, nothing punny. I'm so done with her.
I believe the only ones she hasn't annoyed on staff are Ness (because they match energies, I guess), the pages, and everyone who hasn't had to deal with her yet. Everyone that she has come across that is a Staff member, has been bothered by her in some way other than Ness and the pages.
She's loud, she steals, and she lies. Someone please take her off our hands. PLEASE!!
