Wello! Are you back again?
Not surprising as I just started this thing, I only have two posts at this point.
So Headcanons! Everyone does them, most of us like them, and sometimes the original creators can't stand them. You know, the usual.
Here's where you're gonna see my writing style for this in full force. I won't have much of a focus. I'll be adding to this as days go by and I read, no surprise there, so I'm not just pulling this all out of my ass at once. And once I get a good few points going, I'll post it. Maybe start a part 2 if I find more in the future.
So let's do this, nerds!

So let's do this, nerds!
Off the top of my head to begin with:
GHOST KING DANNY
I love the "Danny is the Ghost King" headcanon. I live for it. And if Danny isn't the king, no one else is allowed to be king other than an imprisoned Pariah. At least in my opinion. The only other option I tend to accept, mainly out of necessity to enjoy whatever I was reading, is when a bear is made the Ghost king? I don't really like that, but if it holds a place in the story that you have to fill and Danny is involve, I let it slide. So essentially he is or he isn't. I don't like much in between.
BLOBS (?)
Without watching the show a second time, well, third time, and confirming whether or not they actually exist, this one only kinda fits this topic. I like blobs. The blobs are great. They might be a creation of the fans. Maybe they aren't. Maybe they are an interpretation of something that did show up in the show. Whatever they are, I am definitely a fan of them.
THE ANCIENTS
As fans, we've accepted there are the Ancients. I believe they were mentioned in the show, maybe once or twice, but there was never any elaboration on them. Who are they? Where do they come from? Who are they? What are they? What do they do? We don't know. But as fans, we've definitely made something of what we did get. And as I fan myself, I love to elaborate on what the Ancients are, even if I don't write my own stories about them. I come up with my ideas, and I also read what everyone else comes up with. And with every story that I read, bits. and bobs of each type of Ancient that people write about becomes a part of my own idea of what they are. But the one thing that I like to accept is they are the embodiment of concepts that make up the infinite realms. They are stronger than the ghosts that we've seen so far. They're stronger than Danny, stronger than Vlad. Clockwork is his closest to what I believe an Ancient to be. And even I believe he's stronger than how he appears.
A few others that have been used as Ancients or versions of Ancients would be Vortex, Nocturne, and Undergrowth. Because Danny as a young ghost is able to defeat them quite easily — in fact, the moment he learns something new he's able to do, he takes them out quite efficiently — I think to myself, they must be a weaker version of what they used to be. Maybe the version that we see is a ghost version, a weaker version of themselves, and they're true forms are Eldritch, something beyond. This could just be my love of Lovecraft shining through but I want them to be so much bigger and I view them as such.
This ties into my love of the Danny is a Ghost King head cannon because I like to think that when he becomes stronger, when he truly takes on the role of being the king, the High King of the Infinite Realms, he slowly becomes less ghost and more Eldritch monster. Something beyond what you can believe, what you can imagine. And that just sounds so awesome in the original definition of the word.
GHOST CORES
Another thing I like are cores. The core to a ghost. That which makes them what they are, who they are. When the core to a ghost is destroyed. The ghost themselves is destroyed. Danny being half human and half ghost, being both alive and dead, has a core, but he also has a heart. He can be heartbroken, but God forbid if he is ever core broken. There is nothing beyond becoming a ghost of the Infinite Realms. There are only two ways you can go from there. You become an ancient: something only dreamed of, something not everyone knows of. Or you end. There is no more. And when a core is destroyed, the second option comes to be. You end and there is no more of you.
DANNY IS BOTH DEAD AND IMMORTAL
It sounds so sad coming from a story, a TV show for kids. It tried so hard to be light-hearted and childlike, they didn't want to acknowledge that Danny had died. Made jokes about it even. But a mature take to Danny Phantom would be that he didn't just die. He is the balance between life and death. He is stuck still alive while being dead and he can't crossover either way. He can never be fully alive. Never be fully dead. But he can cross those two paths. Ancient or ended.
JACK AND MADDIE FENTON ARE BAD SCIENTISTS
Another headcanon I have is that Jack and Maddie Fenton are shunned by the scientific community. But not only because they believe in ghosts and want to work solely on the research into ghosts. But because they don't do their research correctly. They don't study the way you should. They don't take notes or report their findings the way they should. A proper scientist, one that wants to show their work and be proud of it would want to be able to prove to the world without a shadow of a doubt. what their findings have shown. They'll do all of their work properly. That is not the Fentons. They are improper scientists and I like to believe a deep down they know this. This why they have a lab in their basement, not so they can bring work home but because nowhere else will accept them. They are brilliant and they can create amazing things. That can never outshine everything they do wrong.
THE FENTONS ARE LOVING PARENTS BUT NOT GREAT
Going into the Fentons, I never believed them to be bad parents. I have seen some pretty bad parents in TV shows. I never doubted that they love their children. They need to be better parents for sure. They could do so much better. They are definitely a bit neglectful, but they are loving and they do care for their children. Yes, Jazz herself has a bit of parentification going on. You can tell that she has grown too soon. Finds herself to be too mature for most people. What she should be is a teenager, a 16 year old. And even though Danny can be embarrassed by his sister and try to push her away, you can tell that she was like another mother to him growing up. She did not take Maddie's place. but she definitely at times replaced her when Maddie was too distracted. But Jack and Maddie are still their parents, as shown in episodes like Maternal Instinct. And because this is why I view the Fenton parents the way I do, the way that fans sometimes write them can be frustrating. If they found out that their son turned out to be something they hated, their love for their son would give them pause. They will not attack. They will not harm. They will freeze and consider. Their baby is a ghost, and they have shouted and yelled at him that they would hunt him down and experiment on him over and over again. And now they find that their son is the one they've said this about. They wouldn't jump on the chance. They would be horrified and not know how to handle it. And And that is why I think Danny and Jazz's expectations are both correct when it comes to their parents. They are loving parents. They will accept Danny. They won't want to hurt him as Danny fears.
I HATE THE FENTONS BEING THEIR HORRIBLE FANON SELVES
The stories that get on my nerve with this specific fanon topic are actually in the DPxDC fics. Mainly because you'll find that they are like this in a majority of those crossovers. You'll see that a lot of those want to just have Danny (and co) in the DC world, and they tend to go for the easy conclusion of Danny (and co) must have left Amity Park in whatever way possible because FENTON PARENTS BE BAD. When I first started reading Danny Phantom fics, there seemed to be a good mix. But now I tend to find stories where Jack and Maddie not only don't accept Danny but hurt him to be overwhelming "the market". It gets really tiring, especially since it also tends to come with making characters that are much less parental (and sometimes downright horrible) be the better option for guardians. It kinda reminds me of reading Percy Jackson stories where they needed Percy to be single to pair him with someone new (usually in crossovers) so they make Annabeth cheat on him...it would have made more sense for them to either just drift away from each other romantically or just have always been just best friends (you don't have to be romantically involved to fall into Tartarus for someone). The Fentons could either die, or send Danny away for his own safety, because surprise surprise, the Fentons aren't the only ghost hunting antagonists in the show, people! But nah, people just make them absolutely awful, sometimes even to Jazz who isn't a ghost or half ghost. All loving traits shown in the show are tossed aside for fucking angst. I have never hated angst-focused stories more.
Ok, I think I'm done rambling for now. I know there are probably more things I like or dislike, but this should do for now.
Again, no hate, just sharing of ideas or opinions. I never criticize stories for being their version of fanon, even when some authors believe so (and are super rude about it). I've only ever discussed the behavior of characters as they've wrote them, but I guess people just wanna be praised, not analyzed. Whatever.
Well it's been goodish.
Name's Jolly, stay happy, and don't get snappy.
Peace.
